Grad Week 2010

Workchoice Grad Week 2010 in association with the NZ Herald

GRAB A GRAD FOR FREE

This year the team at Workchoice are piloting ‘Grad Week’ which involves past Workchoice Day students and other Gen-Y graduates who have completed higher education to gain unpaid work experience. The 2010 programme is currently running in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch from now through to October 2010.  Companies are able get to ‘grab-a-Grad-for-free’ and in return Grads are able to gain valuable work experience and the opportunity to launch themselves confidently into the next stage of their career.

FROG EXPERIENCES GRAD WEEK 2010

We have just hosted a Grad for WorkChoice Grad Week - and thoroughly enjoyed being involved and having an additional person in the business. We designed two projects for him to focus on, added another couple (as you do!)  and to our delight the work was completed to an extremely high level. So much so - we have extended the time with our Grad and have placed him on a paid assignment with us.  A no-brainer in our minds.

Have to say, chatting to our Grad took us back to when we were first starting work: daunting, nerve-wracking, exciting, different to what was expected, an eye-opener. So ‘double thumbs up’  for Grad Week. We achieved a real sense the ‘feel good’ factor in being able to give a ‘leg up’  to someone. It added a bright element to our week actually and sure makes you feel pretty good about playing a nice role in the world or work!

P.S. interested in employing a Grad in Marketing / Communications? Well, we just happen to know of one we can vouch for - and this would be at: no cost/free/no strings! Contact Katrina Tolomaki to get the ball rolling!
