Innovative Market Strategies for Leading Global FMCG
THE BRIEF
In early 2008 we were approached by a leading global FMCG company, with high profile brands and who unashamedly want to be top of the pile. As a result a global initiative to restructure the business occurred having significant impact in New Zealand.
Frog was engaged for 2 reasons:
Our reputation in the market and
Because other experiences had not worked.
Our role was to develop to market strategies to see our client appoint 7 strategically important roles.
THE SOLUTION
A 3 pronged hybrid approach.
Talent market mapping (where we scope the market size – how many of those people ACTUALLY exist). Name Sourcing. (where we find out what those people are called) and Direct Sourcing (where we tap them)
Referrals where we asked those people identified through strategy 1 to refer those people they knew in the market – 1 person referred 3 individuals!
Finally the above the line, Blind web based advertising in NZ and offshore using creative copy writing.
KEY OUTCOMES
Placed all of the 7 original roles.
1 National Business Manager was a returning kiwi, out of Tesco in the UK
The Category Development Manager – we recruited a Belgian, living in Vietnam who agreed to relocate to NZ
We’ve developed an FMCG talent pool – earmarking individuals for approach in a years time and for ongoing communications from Frog
For the Logistics Manager we halted the Target list at 100 and closed applications
Supremely cost effective delivery
Pipeline potential employees all of whom are engaged with the brand
Referral programme developed, which is ongoing
Provided the client with a clear understanding of the competitive market in candidates and who they are
Educated an international management team in NZ law, market intelligence and market processes
