Even with cost control being paramount we have noted continued requests for additional staff resourcing in the usual places such as: holiday cover, peaks, projects and maternity cover.

Equally, we in recent times we have observed certain situations becoming more frequent as organisations focus on the productivity of all staff no matter how they are employed by the organisation, or for how long...

  1. An increase in using temp staff for ‘job scoping’: to allow full assessment of content, competencies and KPI’s of a potential position
  2. Wider and diverse skill sets being requested: demonstrating the preference for multifaceted individuals who are able to manage more diverse roles
  3. Greater emphasis in the selection of the right temporary staff. No longer is it about a quick fix.  Productivity is paramount so clients are actively taking part to ensure temp staff have that all important ‘fit’ so are right for the team/culture. For some, this includes taking the time to interview a potential temp staff member to be sure the mix id right [which we are only too pleased to coordinate]
The days of a Temp being viewed as ‘just the temp - in the corner filing’ (that no one speaks to) have gone. Instead this flexible and valued workforce is celebrated as highly skilled and experienced, who having chosen temping as a lifestyle option, instantly becomes an integral part of the team.
