Redundancy StepsFacing Redundancy? Some steps to think about to formulate an action plan. Having studied various resources for helpful relevant advice plus adding what we know to be true we have compiled the following comments for you, which we hope will be helpful. Firstly it’s important not to panic and take it personally. Hard we know, but do try to consider there could be an up-side, as new doors can open. Hindsight shows that when we look back at the CV’s of the people we know had their roles made redundant in the early 90’s - it is interesting to see what people have gone on to do. For younger people – it’s all new territory so even more important to reinforce that redundancy can be viewed, not a hindrance, but as a benefit. Take action. Don’t sit back. This is one time that being proactive is essential. Update your CV. Talk through options with someone. It’s important to get an independent view. Many use this as a catalyst to seek career coaching.
