An exciting opportunity exists for an ambitious Cost Accountant/Estimator, who will be a key member and contributor to the Finance Department of a successful market-leading telecommunications company. The overall objective of the role is to determine and provide pricing, quoting, and analysis for tenders, proposals, and improve business changes. You will be pivotal in accessing cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, financial modelling, variances analysis, and driving the continuous financial performance of the business.
Your project management/quantity surveying skills, managing vendor relationships, and report writing skills will be vital in this role. You will have sound technical skills in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and Pronamics Expert Estimation and other similar operating systems.
You will have gained 3-5 years of Cost Accountant experience and hold a CA or CPA Qualification or Engineering degree in quantity surveying, or similar.
Your natural curiosity and attention to detail will lead you to understanding the bigger business picture, of how products are created, developed, and how much it will cost a potential client. A sound commercial acumen, a knack for building relationships, and the ability to work autonomously is also going to be part of your skill mix as is your enquiring mind and commitment to ongoing improvement. You won’t shy away from pushing back where need be – always providing a sound rationale for your approach.
