Senior Policy Analyst

We are supporting one of the central government agencies with recruiting for several Senior Policy Analyst vacancies. These are permanent positions, based in Wellington.

The required skillset for these roles is ‘core policy’, so if you bring experience working in policy teams in NZ central government agencies, where you have been providing Policy advice to Ministers about issues facing New Zealand, writing briefings to the Minister, writing Cabinet papers, etc, then please read on.

There are opportunities for:

experienced Seniors who are interested in a future management pathway, to be in a role focused on coaching and mentoring less experienced team members;
experienced Seniors to lead and deliver evidence-based complex and sensitive policy projects & programmes of work;
a well-experienced Policy Analyst to get that opportunity to step up to Senior Policy Analyst level.

The work environment incorporates a mix of Social policy levers, and Market levers. If your policy career has seen you working in social systems, and/or economics related-, and/or financial markets related policy matters, then this could be of interest and suitable for you.

The work also incorporates cross-agency work.

This is an opportunity to be working in Big P policy analysis and advice, on complex, interesting and varied work.

You're an experienced (‘core policy’) public Policy professional
Your policy background includes experience in social systems, and/or economics related-, and/or financial markets related policy
You are based in Wellington, and you are a NZ Resident or Citizen.

The team operates a hybrid work environment, with a mix of Office-based and WFH days (fully remote is not possible).
