The Firm
A specialist litigation practice with a growing Sydney presence, this firm acts on complex, high value commercial disputes, class actions and insolvency related matters. It operates with a lean team of approximately 20 professionals, delivering work typically associated with larger firms while maintaining a focused and intellectually rigorous environment. The practice is known for its strategic, outcomes driven approach and consistent involvement in Supreme and Federal Court proceedings, as well as cross border disputes and arbitrations.
The Role
This role sits within a disputes team handling a mix of commercial litigation, class actions and restructuring related matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers on the preparation and conduct of proceedings across superior courts.
  • Core responsibilities include drafting pleadings, affidavits and submissions
  • managing discovery processes
  • conducting legal research and analysis
  • liaising with clients, counsel and experts. The position involves direct exposure to complex matters and requires active contribution to litigation strategy and case progression.
The Candidate
Suitable for a an Associate or Senior Associate with 3+ PAE in commercial litigation. Strong academics are expected.
The candidate demonstrates clear and precise written and verbal communication, is structured in their approach to work and can operate effectively under pressure. Experience in Supreme or Federal Court matters is advantageous.
They are proactive, capable of independent thinking and able to contribute to strategic outcomes. A consistent work ethic is required, including meeting a seven hour daily billable target. Full time office attendance is mandatory.
