Join a global medical technology organisation in a permanent clinical role supporting upper extremities procedures across the Taranaki region and beyond. You’ll combine your clinical or technical aptitude with hands-on learning to build a career in MedTech.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
This is a varied, field-based role supporting surgical teams before, during and after procedures. You’ll contribute to case planning, prepare implants and equipment, provide clinical and technical support in theatre, and work closely with surgeons and hospital teams. You’ll have the autonomy to manage activity across your region while remaining part of a close-knit national team that supports one another with case coverage. Structured training, shadowing and hands-on development will help you build capability in the role.
Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and technical support to surgical teams in theatre
- Coordinate pre-case requirements, including CT scans and surgical planning
- Prepare implants, equipment and associated requirements for procedures
- Build effective working relationships with surgeons, nurses, registrars and hospital teams
- Work closely with CSSD and other hospital stakeholders to support smooth case delivery
- Support post-case pack-down and follow-up requirements
- Provide case coverage primarily across Taranaki and Palmerston North, with some travel to Auckland and Wellington
- Contribute as an active member of the wider NZ team, supporting colleagues where case coverage requires it.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
- A clinical, healthcare or technically aligned background with strong aptitude for learning new products and procedures
- An understanding of anatomy and movement that can translate into a surgical and MedTech environment
- Theatre nursing or operating theatre exposure would be valuable but is not essential; physiotherapy backgrounds are also highly relevant
- A collaborative approach combined with the confidence to work independently in a regional role
- Comfortable taking responsibility, learning hands-on and working within a fast-moving clinical environment
- Flexibility to travel and work around surgical case requirements, including occasional early starts, late finishes and weekend on-call activity.
