The Role
- Brisbane based role within a growing employment, workplace relations and safety team
- Advising clients on management of ill and injured workers
- Providing critical incident response services
- Defending prosecutions under work health and safety legislation nationally
- Advising on and representing clients in employment related claims including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and wage underpayment
- Assisting with industrial relations matters including right of entry disputes
- Advising on WHS compliance and incident management
- Conducting workplace investigations
- Assisting with and delivering training to clients on employment and safety topics
The Candidate
- Admitted lawyer with up to 2yrs post admission experience
- Hold a current Queensland practising certificate
- Exposure to employment law, workplace relations, WHS, workers compensation or general litigation is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a practical and commercial mindset
- Confident dealing with clients and working collaboratively across practice groups
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Clear, confident and plain language communication style
