The Firm
A well regarded and growing legal practice is seeking a talented Solicitor to join its Employment Law team. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse mix of contentious and non contentious workplace matters, working alongside experienced practitioners who are committed to delivering practical, commercial outcomes for clients. The Role
The successful candidate will work with a broad range of corporate clients, advising on employment and workplace relations matters while assisting with litigation, investigations, and employment related commercial transactions. Responsibilities will include:
  • Advising clients on employment law, workplace relations, industrial relations, awards, enterprise agreements, and regulatory obligations
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts, workplace policies, procedures, and other employment related documentation
  • Assisting with workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, performance management processes and termination issues
  • Managing discrimination, bullying, harassment and workplace health and safety matters
  • Preparing correspondence, legal memoranda, court documents and submissions
  • Assisting with litigation and dispute resolution matters before courts, tribunals and regulatory bodies
  • Conducting legal research and monitoring legislative and case law developments
  • Running files autonomously while collaborating with senior lawyers on complex advisory and litigation matters
  • Undertaking employment law due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, business sales and restructures
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and advising on employment related transactional risks.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and commercially minded lawyer who enjoys building relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia
  • Approximately 1 to 3 years post qualification experience in employment law, workplace relations, industrial relations or litigation
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and workplace regulations
  • Excellent drafting, research and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple matters
  • High attention to detail with a commercial approach to problem solving
  • Experience with workplace investigations, Fair Work Commission matters, workplace health and safety issues, or client relationship management will be viewed favourably.
