About the role
The Financial Accountant position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers a chance to contribute directly to the organisation's financial health while collaborating with a dedicated team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing processes
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable and payroll functions
- Perform journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure accurate financial reporting
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, advisors, regulators and suppliers.
- Help coordinate indirect and direct tax compliance activities, including GST, FBT, payroll tax, ESS and income tax reporting.
- Monitor cash flow, maintain banking relationships and assist with cash flow forecasting.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within financial services
- Strong capability in using XERO and managing financial processes
- Demonstrated ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
- CPA qualified
