About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll join the finance team on a 12-month contract, supporting key financial reporting, audit and acquisition activities across the business.
This role comes with the opportunity to make a real impact. Following a period of significant change within the team, you'll play a critical role in helping stabilise and strengthen core finance processes while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation. There is strong potential for this position to evolve beyond the initial contract and become a longer-term opportunity for the right person.
We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, can quickly assess priorities and isn't afraid to get involved in both the technical and operational aspects of financial accounting. You'll be supported by an experienced Financial Controller and a developing team member, while helping shape a more sustainable and efficient finance function for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review statutory and management financial reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards
- Lead and support external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes
- Assist with acquisition accounting and integration activities
- Partner with operational stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and support
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
- Support the ongoing development of accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities as required
About You
You are a technically strong accountant who combines professional expertise with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Ideally, you will bring a background in Audit from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, complemented by commercial finance experience. More importantly, you'll be adaptable, resilient and comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can shift and practical outcomes matter.
You'll bring: CA or CPA qualification|||Strong experience in financial accounting and external reporting|||Sound knowledge of audit processes and statutory reporting requirements|||Exposure to acquisition accounting or business integration activities|||The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail|||A proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes rather than simply maintain them|||Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to work collaboratively across all levels of the business|||A hands-on approach and a willingness to step in where needed to support the broader team
