This is a senior executive assignment suited to a proven CFO‑level leader who can operate confidently in a complex, purpose‑led environment and provide immediate impact at both strategic and operational levels.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board, this role will assume executive accountability for the organisation’s financial performance, consolidated reporting, governance, and corporate services functions.
A major focus of the engagement will be the leadership and delivery of budgets, forecasting, and complex audit processes across multiple entities, while ensuring strong controls, compliance, and high‑quality executive reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive leadership of the Finance function, including budget preparation, forecasting, and financial performance management
- Oversight of consolidated financial reporting across a large and complex group structure
- End‑to‑end responsibility for external audits, statutory reporting, and regulator engagement
- Preparation and delivery of Board and Executive‑level financial reporting and insights
- Leadership of corporate services portfolios, including finance, governance, risk, IT, HR and related functions
- Strengthening financial frameworks, controls, and risk management practices
- Partnering with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board on strategic decision‑making
- Leading and supporting senior finance leaders and teams through a period of delivery and transition
- Demonstrated experience operating at CFO or Executive Director level within a large, complex organisation
- Background in multi‑entity consolidated reporting (NFP, government, health, education, or similarly regulated sectors highly regarded)
- Proven capability managing large budgets and complex audit environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills at Board and Committee level
- Comfortable operating in a contract or interim executive capacity — decisive, hands‑on, and outcomes‑focused
- CA or CPA qualified
