The Role
The firm is seeking a Junior Property Lawyer to join its Sydney-based team. The role involves managing end-to-end residential conveyancing matters, with a particular focus on retirement village transactions. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting all aspects of residential sale and purchase conveyancing, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and settlement documentation
- Advising clients on the legal aspects of property purchases, sales, and transfers
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, including duties and revenue obligations
- Managing a personal file load autonomously and meeting strict deadlines
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of client service
- Developing technical expertise in property and retirement village law and contributing knowledge to the wider team
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in property law and conveyancing and be comfortable running their own matters with minimal supervision. Key criteria include:
- Experience in residential conveyancing, with a demonstrated history of successfully completed transactions
- Working knowledge of PEXA and Duties or Revenue Office compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage files independently and take ownership of matters
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge within the team
