The Role

Lawyer role within a dispute resolution team focusing on construction and strata matters. Working across defects claims, contractual disputes and commercial litigation. Assisting on security of payment adjudications and related processes. Involvement in contract administration, drafting and review. Exposure to strata disputes including NCAT proceedings. Supporting mediations, negotiations and other dispute resolution processes. Drafting pleadings, correspondence and legal documents. Conducting legal research and assisting with case strategy. Attending court and tribunal appearances with increasing responsibility. Progressively taking carriage of smaller matters as capability develops. Working closely with senior lawyers in a structured mentoring environment.

The Candidate

Admitted lawyer with 1-2 years post admission experience. Background in dispute resolution is essential. Experience appearing in NCAT and courts. Exposure to construction, building or defects disputes (essential). Familiarity with mediations and dispute resolution processes. Experience with security of payment adjudications is advantageous. Strong interest in building a career in construction and strata law. Technically capable with attention to detail. Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Commercially aware with a practical approach.
