The Role
Working closely with experienced practitioners, the successful candidate will advise clients on a broad range of matters including:
- Technology transactions, procurement, sourcing and commercial contracting
- Artificial intelligence governance, risk management and emerging technology issues
- Privacy, data protection, spam and surveillance law compliance
- Cyber preparedness, incident response and regulatory investigations
- Defamation and reputation management matters
- Online intermediary liability issues
- Intellectual property protection, enforcement and infringement disputes
- Competition and consumer law matters
- Advertising and marketing compliance
- Election and regulatory matters
- Commercial disputes, litigation and dispute resolution
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Contributing to business development initiatives and practice growth
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, depending on level of experience
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Technology, media or intellectual property law
- Commercial litigation and disputes
- Privacy and cyber security
- Technology contracting and transactions
- Defamation and media law
- Consumer law, advertising and regulatory matters
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Strong technical legal skills and sound academic credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to deliver practical and commercially focused advice
- Strong client relationship management skills
