About You We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Assistant to join a busy disputes and investigations practice. This role would suit someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and is keen to further develop their career, with opportunities to take on additional paralegal responsibilities.

Ideally, you will have 3–4 years of experience in a law firm, along with the confidence to manage matters proactively and build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of court procedures, legal forms, and precedents, along with a willingness to expand your legal knowledge
  • Experience managing files from opening through to completion, including billing processes
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant looking to broaden their responsibilities and continue developing their career within a professional legal practice.
The Role Working closely with Partners and lawyers in an established practice, you will provide administrative and legal support across a range of matters.

Responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing instructions and managing tasks related to opening, progressing, closing, and archiving files
  • Ensuring matters are handled in line with client requirements, legislation, and internal procedures
  • Communicating with clients and borrower representatives via phone, email, and meetings
  • Assisting with recommending outcomes and resolutions for client matters
  • Drafting legal documentation associated with litigation and property matters, including:
    • Claims
    • Statements of Claim
    • Default Judgment documentation
    • Settlement statements
    • Deeds of settlement
    • Contracts
    • Warrants
    • Letters of demand
  • Preparing general correspondence
  • Managing diary scheduling and appointments
  • Maintaining internal systems and records
  • Conducting bankruptcy, company, and title searches
  • Identifying potential risks or issues in matters and escalating when required
  • Experience with practice management systems such as Aderant or iManage would be beneficial but is not essential.
