- Acts for major banks, international clients and energy sector participants
- Strong client base spanning domestic and cross-border transactions, including significant Chinese client relationships
- Lean, partner-led team structure with direct access to decision makers
- National platform with consistent workflow across offices
The Role
- Senior Associate role within a Banking & Finance team
- Reporting directly to an experienced partner with a strong market profile
- Working across a mix of corporate lending, general finance and cross-border transactions
- Acting for institutional lenders, corporate borrowers and offshore clients
- Exposure to energy and infrastructure related financing matters
- Leading transactions end to end with support from junior lawyers
- Drafting and negotiating finance documentation and managing deal execution
- Direct client contact and responsibility for maintaining key relationships
- Operating within a lean team with significant autonomy and responsibility
- No formal handover, requiring immediate ownership of matters
The Candidate
- Admitted lawyer with 5+ years post admission experience
- Strong Banking & Finance background from a recognised firm
- Experience across corporate lending and general finance transactions
- Exposure to cross-border matters, particularly involving Asian clients, is advantageous
- Technically strong with the ability to run matters independently
- Commercially pragmatic with a direct approach to problem solving
- Confident communicator with strong client management capability
- Able to operate effectively in a lean team with minimal supervision
- Comfortable stepping into matters without transition support
