The Role
Working closely with a respected partner and senior lawyers, the Disputes Associate will join a growing commercial litigation practice.
Work will include
- Complex contractual disputes
- Regulatory investigations and proceedings
- Corporate and trust disputes
- Matters in superior courts in Australia and selected overseas jurisdictions
Key responsibilities
- Managing work streams on major commercial disputes
- Drafting pleadings, evidence and court documents
- Conducting research and preparing advices
- Liaising with clients, counsel and experts
- Briefing counsel and supporting hearing preparation
- Attending mediations, conferences and court
- Assisting with business development and thought leadership

The Candidate
- 2 to 4 years PAE in a reputable commercial litigation practice
- Experience in complex matters in superior courts
- Strong drafting skills across pleadings and affidavits
- Well developed research and analytical ability
- Proven capacity to manage deadlines and take ownership of work streams
- Strong academics, technical skill and attention to detail
- A collaborative working style and enjoyment of a collegiate environment
- A self-motivated attitude and eagerness to learn and progress
