The Role
- Sydney based Senior Associate role within a labour, employment and workplace safety team
- Advising on advisory, transactional and contentious employment matters
- Acting on complex industrial relations disputes and employment litigation
- Representing employers in unfair dismissal, discrimination and general protections claims
- Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive arrangements and workplace policies
- Advising on compliance, risk management and workforce strategy
- Litigating matters in State and Federal courts, tribunals and commissions
- Assisting with urgent applications including injunctive relief
- Advising on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructures and business transformation
- Supporting workplace health and safety investigations and site based matters
- Delivering training programs and contributing to client development initiatives
- Working both collaboratively and autonomously on matters
The Candidate
- Admitted lawyer with approximately 5-8 years post admission experience
- Strong background in employment law, industrial relations and workplace safety
- Experience across both front end advisory and contentious employment matters
- Trained at a well regarded firm with strong technical capability
- Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem solving
- Confident dealing directly with clients and managing sensitive matters
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage urgent and competing deadlines
- Team oriented and committed to mentoring and collaboration
