The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join a well established Construction and Infrastructure team in Sydney. This role offers a genuine mix of front end and back end construction work, providing exposure to complex project advisory matters as well as high value disputes across a range of sectors.
  • Key responsibilities include: Drafting and negotiating construction and project documentation
  • Advising clients on construction related legal and commercial issues
  • Managing construction disputes, including adjudications and alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Running litigation matters in superior courts and arbitration proceedings
  • Supporting major infrastructure, engineering and development projects
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Participating in business development initiatives and networking activities
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team
The Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, commercial awareness and a genuine passion for construction law. Requirements include: Approximately 8 to 11 years post qualification experience, with strong consideration given to experienced Senior Associates and Special Counsel candidates|||Significant experience in construction law gained within a reputable private practice firm or sophisticated in house environment|||Exposure to both contentious and non contentious construction matters|||Strong drafting, negotiation and dispute resolution skills|||Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities|||A commercial and solutions focused approach to legal practice|||Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships|||A collaborative mindset and commitment to mentoring junior team members
