Senior Bookkeeper
Location: Perth, WA (Currently based in Nedlands; relocating to Fremantle shortly)

We are partnering with a leading shipping and logistics organisation known for providing trusted services to both international and domestic shipping operators. With a strong reputation in the maritime industry, the company values accuracy, reliability, and teamwork. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their Perth-based team and support ongoing operational success.
About the Role
As Senior Bookkeeper, you will oversee the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in line with Australian accounting standards. You’ll work closely with leadership, operations, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate financial insights and support decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
The role is currently based in Nedlands and will be relocating to Fremantle shortly. The company offers one day of work from home per week(with a preference for in-office work).
A competitive salary is on offer, commensurate with experience.
This position reports directly to the CEO, and applicants must be based in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and process monthly journals and transactions.
- Ensure all accounts receivable, payable, and cash book entries are accurately captured.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Liaise with payroll service providers for weekly/monthly processing and record in the general ledger.
- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, including liaising with external accountants/auditors.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Manage cash flow and monitor operational expenditure.
- Support management with financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with ATO regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of GST, BAS, and Australian tax obligations.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g. Xero or similar).
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance(Certificate, Diploma, or Degree).
