A well-established New Zealand business with an APAC footprint is looking for a senior HR generalist to be the go-to people partner for its local team of around 100. This is a hands-on role with real breadth - you'll own the day-to-day while helping shape what comes next. You'll join a small, close-knit HR team where personality and energy count as much as capability.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

You'll deliver end-to-end HR across the employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees alike. Roughly half your time will sit in end-to-end recruitment across New Zealand, with the balance spent on generalist work - employee relations, policy, learning and development, performance and remuneration reviews. You'll help shape New Zealand people priorities alongside the business and the APAC HR Business Partner, then lead the execution so plans actually land. You'll also lead and develop an HR Administrator, building capability and service excellence across HR operations.

Ngā kawenga | Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end recruitment across the New Zealand business, partnering with hiring managers and delivering a positive candidate experience

Provide timely, practical and commercially sound HR and employee relations advice to managers and leaders

Manage ER matters including performance, conduct, behaviour, absence, wellbeing and general employment concerns

Lead, coach and develop the HR Administrator, including objective setting, performance management and development planning

Lead local learning and development and engagement initiatives, leveraging global programmes where appropriate

Act as the primary point of contact for remuneration, benefits, payroll and reporting enquiries

Maintain the integrity of HR systems and employee data, and analyse people trends to inform business decisions

Keep policies, documentation and advice compliant with New Zealand employment legislation and best practice

Proven end-to-end recruitment delivery alongside broad generalist HR across the full employee lifecycle

Strong employee relations, coaching and influencing skills, with sound judgement on sensitive matters

Good working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, HR policies and best practice

Demonstrated people leadership capability, with excellent communication and stakeholder management

Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, including HRIS and people data

Tertiary qualification in HR or business highly regarded but not essential

High attention to detail, professionalism and discretion with confidential information
