About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Lawyer to join the Resources & Energy team of a well-established national law firm in Perth, specialising in Energy and Decarbonisation.

Key responsibilities

• Advising clients on a broad range of energy, decarbonisation and commercial project matters
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements and project documentation
• Providing regulatory advice across energy and other regulated markets
• Supporting clients on projects involving energy transition, emerging technologies and decarbonisation initiatives
• Advising on commercial and regulatory risks associated with major projects
• Working closely with partners and senior lawyers to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers within the team
• Contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice

About you

• At least 5 years’ post-admission experience, ideally within a projects or commercial practice
• Experience working within a reputable Australian or international law firm
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Exposure to energy, resources, infrastructure or energy transition matters would be advantageous
• Experience providing regulatory advice or working within regulated markets
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical, client-focused solutions
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage matters autonomously while working collaboratively within a team
• An interest in emerging technologies, renewable energy and decarbonisation
• A willingness to mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the development of the team
