About the role
This role is designed for a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead and support a payroll team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. The position requires managing end-to-end payroll operations for a large employee base, interpreting and applying relevant legislation, and resolving complex payroll queries. You will also play a key role in supporting payroll project initiatives and process improvements, collaborating with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support a payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across a large employee base
- Interpret and apply Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant payroll legislation
- Review payroll reconciliations and ensure compliance requirements are met
- Resolve complex payroll queries and escalations
- Support payroll project initiatives, process improvements, and system-related activities
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in payroll management within a large organisation
- Strong capability in interpreting and applying payroll legislation and compliance standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage complex payroll operations effectively.
