Edelweiss is 1 year and 4 months old and isn’t just a dog – she’s a walking ray of sunshine with fur. From the moment she trots into a room, tails wag (including hers), conversations start, and somehow everyone feels a little lighter. She has this magic of making people feel seen, whether it’s greeting the neighbour like a long-lost friend or curling up beside someone who’s had a hard day. In our family, she’s the heartbeat in the background – keeping us laughing with her quirks, rallying us outside for fresh air, and reminding us to savour the small moments. To friends and strangers alike, she’s become a local celebrity. Kids squeal when they spot her on the street. Elderly passers-by pause just to give her a pat. Even people who “aren’t dog people” have been caught smiling and bending down for a scratch behind her ears. Edelweiss has this uncanny knack for knowing who needs her most – whether that’s a warm nuzzle, a goofy grin, or simply her boisterous presence. She doesn’t just brighten days; she has reminded us all that joy doesn’t have to be complicated. In short, Edelweiss isn’t just our top dog – she’s everyone’s top dog.

Every year, our campaign is supported and celebrated by a variety of incredible charities across Aotearoa, all of whom mahi tirelessly to make a positive impact for dogs in their respective communities.
