Meet Groot
Breed: Saint Bernard
Barking from: Arkles Bay, Auckland
What's up dog?
Groot is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his massive Saint Bernard frame. This loveable goofball embodies the perfect blend of majestic and ridiculous - he might look regal and dignified one moment, then immediately trip over his own enormous paws the next. His days revolve around three sacred activities: marathon napping sessions (often in the most inconvenient spots), zealously guarding his collection of squeaky toys, and soaking up affection from his canine sisters. Despite his impressive size, Groot is essentially a oversized teddy bear who thinks he's a lapdog. He approaches life with endearing clumsiness, whether he's accidentally knocking over water bowls with his enthusiastic tail wags or getting tangled in his own leash during walks. His sisters have learned to shower him with gentle kisses, which he accepts with the grace of a benevolent king receiving tribute. Sleep is Groot's superpower - he can doze anywhere, from sunny patches on the kitchen floor to impossibly small dog beds that can barely contain his bulk. When he's not snoozing, you'll find him carefully arranging his toy collection or following his sisters around with dopey devotion, ready to turn any ordinary moment into a delightfully chaotic adventure.
