Meet Odie

Breed: English Cocker Spaniel

Barking from: Snells Beach, Snells Beach

What's up dog?

At 17½ years old, Odie the English Cocker Spaniel is still turning heads and winning hearts. He may be blind and deaf now, but his joyful spirit hasn't aged a day. Odie has always had a special spark. At a park or beach, he always drew a crowd without even trying. People stopped just to watch him run, his ginger coat a blur as he darted across the sand, ball in mouth but never quite ready to give it back! He played by his own rules, and we soon learned to bring a second ball just to keep the game going. Once, a council worker pulled over just to say, "It's impossible to be in a bad mood watching your dog! He always knew when we were heading to the beach. The moment he sensed it, he would start squealing with excitement, quivering in anticipation. I would open the car door, but he wouldn't move until I said OK. Then zoom! he was off like a rocket, racing ahead, circling back to hurry me along, tail spinning like a beacon of pure happiness. Now, in his golden years, Odie moves more slowly but still loves his walks. His nose takes the lead, and every scent is a new adventure. He lives for belly rubs and cuddles, and he still greets the world with the same sweet soul he always has. Odie has spent a lifetime spreading joy and he's still at it. He's not just a good boy. He's unforgettable. Ask ChatGPT
