Meet Scout
Breed: Border collie
Barking from: Havelock North, Hastings
What's up dog?
Scout has three tasks to complete during the average 8 hour working day. The first is to watch birds out the window and patrol the garden with his eyes to make sure they don't do anything they shouldn't - and if they do, occasionally a little 'woof' is omitted in a scolding superior way. The second task and the one he is definitely best at is to sleep in as many weird positions as possible to make mum question how a dogs body can twist that way, let alone mid dream. These positions are typically in front of the door so mum is trapped and cannot go make coffees or visit the facilities. The third is to choose a random time to wake up, preferably during a meeting with very very important people and jump up on my mum to say hello to all the strangers on screen. The timing of this is crucial and must be at a serious moment when very serious things are being discussed. Scout is a real professional at all three tasks and takes his role in the organisation very seriously. The impact of his working day makes his mum smile, his dad smile from the pictures he gets sent on the hour and makes all of mums colleagues smile. His sleeping positions - I hope I can attach a photo because honestly they're out of this world.
