What's up dog?

Introducing Boss - the only K9 in New Zealand trained specifically to detect accelerants (flammable substances). He works daily alongside his handler as an accelerant detection dog, supporting a team of forensic fire investigators. Boss is regularly assessed to ensure he maintains the temperament, skills, and focus required for his detection work. For example, he has completed avoidance training to help protect native birds in sensitive areas like Stewart Island. He is also certified by MPI to operate on conservation estates in relation to fire-related incidents. Getting Boss to a scene quickly often involves a helicopter his favourite mode of transport. Boss loves to work. He can detect up to nine different flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, and methylated spirits, which are commonly used to accelerate the development of fires. Boss is guaranteed to be unbiased he does not discriminate. He can work in confined spaces and wears protective boots to safeguard his paws in hazardous environments. Friendly towards both people and other animals (including cats), Boss goes home each night where he enjoys a good meal and a warm bed always ready to go anywhere, anytime. As a working dog Boss provides vital aid to an industry that is unique, and he is proven to be a calming connection where he facilitates a special interaction amongst people. Boss is simply a K9 that influences a stress relief mechanism and boosts your mood. Your best friend who is nothing but devoted and a hardworking dog that produces quality outcomes.
