Meet Honey

Breed: Swiss shepherd X greyhound

Barking from: Hamilton

Job Title: Assistance dog

What's up dog?

Honey is my recently certified assistance dog! She helps me with mobility issues, anxiety and tachycardia episodes. Before I had Honey, I would avoid outings in case my POTS or anxiety flared and I couldn't manage alone. Now, I can do many things I couldn't before, like shop at busy supermarkets or take the stairs when the lift is broken. She has changed my life, giving me routine and balance, teaching me just as much as I am training her. Honey has brought so much joy to the people around her. Her excitement and affection for my friends and family make her a very loved companion, and they love spending time with her. Strangers often smile when they see her working, and children light up with excitement. Her presence not only brightens people's day but also opens the door to meaningful conversations about assistance dogs too, which helps me educate and spread awareness.
