Assistant Accountant

Our client is a well-established organisation with multiple locations and is offering a rare opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This dynamic role offers variety, opportunities for growth, and the support of a team dedicated to your professional development.

The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include:

Prepare and complete monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement reconciliation workpapers
Conduct detailed monthly variance analysis, comparing actual results against budget
Manage fixed asset accounting, including maintenance of the fixed asset register
Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports for internal stakeholders
Support end-of-financial-year processes and reporting requirements
Contribute to tax compliance activities, including the preparation and lodgement of BAS, FBT, and other statutory obligations
Provide support for transactional processes as needed, including accounts payable and receivable
Other ad hoc projects and tasks in the scope of the role.

About You:
The successful candidate will be a skilled accounts officer who is looking for longevity in your next position. You will have strong initiative, high attention to detail and willing to assist in all aspects of finance. You will also demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated experience in similar role with the position accountabilities
Proficient with systems. Experience with Navision is highly advantageous
A team player with a professional and positive approach
A strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
