The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join the firm’s professional indemnity team in Sydney. The successful candidate will work on high-profile professional indemnity matters, defending claims against professionals in sectors such as construction, financial services, and legal services. Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a caseload of professional indemnity matters, including complex and high-value claims.
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal advice for clients.
  • Conducting legal research and advising clients on risk management and coverage issues.
  • Representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborating with senior practitioners on strategic litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, insurers, and industry stakeholders.
The Candidate
The firm is seeking a motivated and experienced insurance litigation lawyer with the following attributes:
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience in professional indemnity or insurance litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance law, civil procedure, and liability disputes.
  • Exceptional drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently while collaborating within a team.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on client service and business development.
  • Experience in handling claims in construction, financial services, or professional services will be highly regarded.
