The Role
The Sydney team is seeking a lawyer with demonstrated expertise in hotel and hospitality law to join their team. The successful candidate will play a central role in advising on major hotel transactions, structuring hotel management and franchise agreements, navigating compliance matters, and negotiating commercial contracts across the APAC region.
Key duties include:
- Advising developers, owners, and operators on hotel development, branding, and operation agreements
- Drafting and negotiating hotel management agreements, leases, and franchise deals
- Assisting with acquisitions, divestments, and joint ventures involving hospitality assets
- Supporting clients in disputes or risk mitigation relating to hotel operations
- Collaborating with colleagues across Asia, the UK, and Europe on cross-border transactions
This role is suited to a commercially savvy and technically strong lawyer who brings a deep understanding of the hospitality and hotels sector, ideally with international exposure.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification, with experience in hotel and hospitality law
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage client relationships with maturity and commercial awareness
- Confidence navigating multi-jurisdictional matters or working across international teams
- Experience working with global hotel brands, developers, or asset managers
- Knowledge of franchising frameworks and IP/licensing considerations in hospitality
- Work-from-home flexibility - 2 days per week
