Payroll Officer - part time

Our client is a is a well-established and privately-owned organisation with a national-wide presence.

Starting as a humble family business here in Brisbane, the organisation is now a national-market leader and well-known, reputable brand. The company pride themselves in providing a supportive, inclusive, and quality workplace for all their employees.

They currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team in Brisbane on a part-time permanent basis.

About the role:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working in a close-knit Payroll Team, the core responsibilities of the role include:

Overseeing the preparation and processing of weekly payroll
Calculation and processing of superannuation, terminations, leave entitlements, and long service leave
On boarding of new staff members and maintenance of employee files
Interpretation of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Resolving internal and external payroll queries
Continuous improvement for processes and systems
Assisting with other ad hoc duties and projects within the scope of the role.

About you:
To be successful for the role, you must demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated experience in the position accountabilities
A quick learner, and work well in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional eye for detail, time management, and working to deadlines
You must be a strong problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
A team player with a positive attitude.

8:30am – 5pm, Monday – Thursday
12-month Fixed Term Contract
Modern office facilities based in Ascot
Hybrid working arrangements.
